PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION


This college has a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which was constituted with a view to promote the all-round development of the institution and to seek wider co-operation of the parent community in the general activities of the college. The Association also aims to foster good relationship among guardians and students and to create a healthy atmosphere in the campus for the maintenance of discipline and high academic standards. The membership of the association is open to all teachers of the college and parents or guardians of all students on the rolls of the college during a year. When a student is removed from the rolls of the college, the parent or guardian shall ipsofacto cease to be a member o the Association.


The entire administration of the PTA shall vest in an Executive committee, which is constituted as follows.


1. President & Treasurer (Principal)

2. Vice-President (elected from among the parents)

3. Secretary (Nominated by the Principal from among the teaching staff)

4. 8 other members of which 4 shall represent the parents and 4 the teaching staff.


The term of office of the PTA Executive Committee shall be for a period of one year and till a new committee assumes charge. It has to meet once in three months or as and when called for and it can discuss and decide matters that are brought to its notice by the Principal. But its decisions have no legal binding and it is merely an advisory body. The General body shall meet once in a year or as and when called for. The President shall be the sole custodian of all the funds of the PTA and all connected account books, receipt books, vouchers, pass books etc. He shall have powers to operate the accounts of the PTA and to incur such expenditure as may be approved or verified by the Committee. The Committee can appoint an audit party from among its members. Its audit report may be presented before the Committee and the General body for approval. The quorum for a meeting of Executive Committee shall be six and all decisions shall be taken by majority of votes. In case of equal votes, the President of the meeting shall have a casting vote. The General body shall be the supreme authority concerning all matters of the PTA and its quorum shall be 15 or 1/8 of the total number of members, which ever is less.
